I draw "Fanta" cans because I was taken by the fact that this company is so entirely global.  A can in Asia, a can in Greece, a can in Senegal; all soda, all a drink to quench your thirst, and different languages on each with the same name.  After Africa, I loved soda so much more, because it was a treat, it wasn't home cooked, it was from elsewhere, we shared it.  I think this is why my obsession with Fanta bottles or food came about.  This is by no means an advertisement for Fanta.  It is a concept that a commodity like this can be sent around to different places and still preserve its integrity as a drink.  Same name, different flavor, and different language.  I can remember Fanta Greece even while in America, and in the same way someone from Senegal can see my drawing of Fanta Orange, Morocco and realize, we have that same drink in Senegal!  What I'm getting at is that, place, is so much more than a drink; culture, people, interpretation, transforms this object or commodity into a cultural piece of human or anthropological thought.  Made by homo-sapiens for human beings to be consumed by men or women but first to be remembered by our own kind and interpreted as a phenomenon of global understanding.
